Quidditch at Azkatraz Just Announced
We are thrilled to announce that sign-ups are now open for our Quidditch Tournament, now set to take place on Friday, July 17 from about 10 AM until around 4:30 at the Beach Chalet Fields in Golden Gate Park. Pickup Quidditch will take place on the same day and in the same location, starting at around noon. You can sign up via our registration page - just follow the links from our website.
Instructions on how to sign up, information about transportation to and from the fields, this year's team names and more can be found here on our Quidditch Information Page. If you have any questions, please email the Quidditch Coordination Team.
FYI: For legal reasons, we have to limit Quidditch tournament sign-ups to people who have registered for Azkatraz, but we are allowing anyone who has a single-day registration for Saturday, Sunday or Monday, or anyone with a Masters of Potter Administration (law & business track) registration to register to play alongside those with full registrations. So if you just want to register for one single day ($45) you can add Playing in the Quidditch Tournament to that.
If you want to play in the tournament, the fee is $30 if you sign up through June 5, 2009, and $35 thereafter. The fee covers transportation, water and other beverages at the field, a pizza lunch and a personalized t-shirt featuring your team's logo. Team names, info on how to sign up and more can be found here, and feel free to ask us any questions you have!
Oh, btw - we are playing at the Beach Chalet fields at Golden Gate Park, so there may very well be mud there.

Check it out!!
Hello All of my fellow Quidditch Enthusiasts!
I'm Val, the chick who was wearing the Slytherin Hair falls at The Witching Hour. I know many of you liked them and were asking about them. I decided to make them for the rest of you, or whoever would like them. :-)
I've got an ebay store...http://stores.ebay.com/Wizard-Hair-Falls
if anyone is interested and would like to look around.

Was goofing around on Craigslist
and came across something very interesting! My Activity Match
is a FREE interactive database of folks looking for people with similar interests.
Ever since The Witching Hour, I've pined to have local Quidditch teams start up. How freaking awesome would it be if we could use this resource to find MORE Quidditch fans and players???!!
We can gather up more fans for Phoenix Rising :) Current Mood: ecstatic

Water Quidditch ROCKS!
Now that (I hope) I've figured out how to post on this thing, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Daniel, and I had the opportunity to captain the most awesome team in the water: the Monsoons!
I've just got to say thanks to everyone who helped make my first ever experience playing Quidditch a great one. So many people went out of their way to be cool to me, and I really appreciate it. :)
Quidditch is too awesome! I'm working on getting to New Orleans and Toronto next year, and if I do make it, you can be sure I'll be out there on the pitch!
Take care, everyone! :)

Muddy players a plenty!
I was Googling "quidditch", trying to find reference images, as I'm thinking about making another Quidditch player costume.
Then, I came across this interesting little bit! Onlyagame.org did a feature from Salem!
HUZZAH MUDDY QUIDDITCH!
I hadn't come across this before and it was a lucky find, it's got all sorts of great shots of players and fans alike.
Also, I just registered for Phoneix Rising. If you're coming, BRING IT ON, BABY!

Pictures at last!
FINALLY! I got all my photos together, named them all and have them linked to a site so all can see. It took me longer than I anticpated because my dorky self named all th epictures, then hit the "sort photos by name" button Oh shit, I need to go through ALL the pictures and RENAME them! So, that took me a couple of days! But at last, all 937 (or so) pictures from Las Vegas during the Lumos Symposium.
Day one (travel, Welcoming Feast, Draco and Harry concerts): http://www.saobart.com/fam_pages/Lumos%20day%201/index.html

Water Quidditch photos
Was Water Quidditch fun or WHAT?!?!
I have to say, that every person on every team had the best team spirit and played fantastic games. Well, everyone except, you know who!
I think I'll start another community called "Emerson is an ass" If you know what I'm talking about, then you should join!
the threshers ready for some chomping!
what team spirit and intrateam camaraderie- monsoons and gillyweeds
monsoons- you rocked!
emerson's an ass- whiny cry-baby fouler!
Threshers win cup!
Roll call Lumos!
Well, for those of you coming over here from Lumos, please post pics, stories and anything pertaining to quidditch - especially water quidditch! Don't let our community title - especially the 'muddy' bit - throw ya off, it's an homage to our mudfest in Salem, MA for The Witching Hour. However, ALL quidditch is good here!
And don't forget 1_2_3_lumos
Also, on a personal note, I lost half of my Lumos pics, and while I'm trying to recover them, please either post here or direct me to your photos, I'm a bit peeved.
Okie, bring those pics on! - Slughorn/Slappy XD Current Mood: energetic

Music Recc: Draco and the Malfoys
Hey y'all, I just got back from Harry and the Potters
First Annual Yule Ball (yay Potters!) where I fell in love with yet another HP band I thought you all might like; Draco and the Malfoys Sample Lyrics:
My Dad’s always there,
To open all my doors,
You have to call a patronus,
Just to catch a glimpse of yours!
My Mom says she loves me,
When she tucks me in to bed,
How's Your Mommy doing,
In the Mirror of Erised?
Check it out!

Ravenclaw house team photos
Here are some photos of the Ravenclaw house pick-up team. If anyone knows names, that would be really helpful as I only know the name of one of my teammates.
The official Ravenclaw house team, all two of us :-)
So that we got a chance to play, we were able to gather enough Ravenclaws from pro players to field a team (but we couldn't go on to the house championship even though we won the game.)
Me and the Seeker
Most of the house team (our Keeper went missing...)
**michelle the librarian** chaser, Ravenclaw (and spinner, I was the one making yarn at most of the talks)

Live Journal Lesson #1
Taking lessons on the finer points of LJ usage from Professor Kary Andrzzzzzzzzzski. As some of you may remember, she speaks softly but carries a big beater's stick!
We're working on getting our pictures posted for ya'll to peruse... We used disposable cameras during The Witching Hour and had the pics saved on CDs. As soon as the Prof schools us on that, they will appear here. Slappy, Reggie took some great action pics of you hydroplaning through the mud and diving on top of the ball. We'll do our best to get them to you. :-)

In typical me style I am horrifically late getting these uploaded and organized but here they are, at last, a little over 400 pictures from TWH with some scattered commentary and doodles intermixed. Let me pause here to wave all all the lovely people, too numerous to name, I encountered over the course of the weekend; you may remember me as the girl with the phoenix tattoo and the little Harry doll, mostly by herself, looking slightly lost and overwhelmed and wielding a camera.
I also have all of these pictures saved in their original, high res (2272x1704) format, so if there are any you'd like to have a copy of bigger, comment or email me with the file name and I'll get that over to you. Also, if you'd prefer, feel free to browse all of these pictures without the commentary at my Photobucket account, iamortentia
. You're welcome to use them for any iconage etc as long as you credit me, colors

Does anybody have any photos floating about of when the Salem Gargoyles got their picture taken with Chris Rankin?
Long, sad, heartbreaking story short: I did not get any. And would love some! Nobody believes that I "met Percy Weasley" and I'd like to shut the naysayers up, once and for ALL!
